Born and raised in Fife, Anna has spent over thirty years living in Highland Perthshire. She has a degree in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art, but her great love of theatre and film eventually led her to become a professional actress....'I love the art of words', Robert Louis Stevenson. She has worked with various theatre companies throughout Scotland, along with roles in film and television, and her one woman play 'Consider the Lillies' won her a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival. This critically acclaimed production went on to tour Ireland and Canada.
A few years ago she joined 'Splinters Productions', a company with the policy 'To bring our Literary Heritage to the Community'. Along with Finlay Mclean and John Shedden she has co-written and directed productions based on the work of George Mackay Brown, Iain Crichton Smith and J.M. Barrie.
Her narration and story telling has been put to good use recently as part of the 'Simply Burns' production which was created to celebrate the songs and poetry of Scotland's Best Loved Bard. With her husband Gilbert, she has travelled widely from Africa to the Antarctic, but her favourite destination is Orkney and the Magnetic North.
